My Approach | Wellbeing With Rashmi

I recognize that health and wellbeing are multidimensional and they include physical, social, spiritual, occupational, emotional and intellectual aspects. Hence, I take a holistic approach of integrative nutrition, functional medicine and ayurvedic principles combined together in my health coaching practice.

What sets me apart is my integrative approach, which combines the best practices from both traditional and alternative healing modalities. I draw inspiration from a wide range of disciplines, including nutrition science, functional medicine, psychology, mindfulness, music and art and to create a personalized and comprehensive wellness plan tailored to your specific needs.

Coaching in my opinion is a unique balance of caring for the client, being supportive of their goals, yet maintaining an open mind to be completely present with them. This creates valuable energy for the client. This process is meditative. 

 

It's holding a space to envelope a client in a protection where they can take down their walls, say their secrets out loud. My energy of love, positivity and compassion are the nourishment to their souls, for creating new habits and for being open to hearing objectivity. My bottom-line objective for coaching a client is to create greater self- awareness within the client and encourage self- exploration.

 

With these layers of defences removed in this amazing space that I have created in my sessions and beyond, the client is freed to connect with their true self. That's when transformation occurs.

Here are some key principles that guide my approach:
  1. One-on-one Coaching and Individualized Assessments: I believe that every person is unique, and therefore, their wellness journey should be too. I start by conducting a thorough assessment of your health history, lifestyle habits, dietary preferences, and goals and followed by One-on-one coaching 6 to 12 online sessions (one hour each). This helps me gain a deeper understanding of your current situation and identify any underlying imbalances that may be affecting your well-being.

  2. Food as medicine and Whole Foods Emphasis: I emphasize on using food as medicine and prioritize the consumption of whole, nutrient-dense foods as the foundation of a healthy sustainable diet.  I help by providing customized meal plans, recipes, shopping lists and sources, ideas for ingredient switches, education on the benefits of different food groups, portion sizes, reading labels and meal planning strategies. I also guide you in making mindful food choices and teach you how to prepare delicious and nourishing meals.

  3. Mind-Body Connection: I recognize the powerful connection between the mind and body. My coaching incorporates stress management techniques, mindfulness practices, and mindset shifts to support your overall well-being. By addressing the psychological and emotional factors influencing your health, I empower you to develop a positive relationship with food and embrace a healthier lifestyle.

  4. Lifestyle Modifications: Achieving long-lasting health goes beyond dietary changes. I work with you to identify lifestyle factors that may be hindering your progress and provide practical strategies to optimize them. This may include improving sleep quality, enhancing physical activity levels, managing stress, and creating a balanced routine that promotes overall wellness.

  5. Creating Self-awareness: I help create safe space without any judgements or pressure to develop self-awareness and encourage self-exploration around your inner workings (likes, dislikes, habits, patterns, stories, mindsets). I help identify symptoms to uncover the deeper issue and recognise what our bodies are communicating through the symptoms.

  6. Education and Empowerment: I am committed to empowering you by providing knowledge about nutrition, bio-chemistry in practical, easy-to-understand and always relevant. 

  7. Collaborative Partnership: I believe that you are the expert of your own body. My coaching style is based on collaboration and mutual respect. I listen attentively to your goals, concerns, and preferences, and together, we develop a personalized plan that aligns with your unique needs. I provide ongoing support, motivation, and accountability to help you stay on track and celebrate your successes along the way.

What is covered when you work with me for 3 to 6 months over 6 to 12 one-on-one sessions (one hour each):

  • Understand the biochemistry of our body and mind which enables you to make conscious healthier choices

 

  • Learning how to use ‘Food as Medicine’. You will get full guidance on meal plans, different food options, simple healthy hacks, healthy recipes and lifestyle changes to follow, which will significantly help with your chronic health conditions, if you practice them well over a period of few months

 

  • Customized meal plans, with shopping lists and sources

 

  • Recommendations on how to read food labels and look for nutritious food alternatives that will support in improving your health conditions 

 

  • Learning how to reduce your exposure to environmental toxins, to support your immune system

 

  • Stress management techniques and mindfulness that fit into your daily routine which shifts your body into a parasympathetic state. By reducing the chronic stress response, you create a more conducive environment for healing, allowing your body to repair and regenerate more effectively.

 

  • Accountability, motivation and support to go through the health journey
